Some random unrelated stuff from my life recently.
Remember how our tent flooded a couple of weekends ago? Well, my $500+ digital camcorder that Jimlaaad gave me for Christmas two years ago got wet and was destroyed. I had no idea it had even gotten wet. I'm trying to find a used one without accessories to replace it. I've seen a couple for under $200, but need to wait until I have a bit more money.
Yesterday morning I noticed that the bike rack on my SUV's spare tire was bent on one side, and the knob on that side missing (I have
this rack). I was hoping if I could straighten it out then I could order a new knob from that website (I had to order a new mounting plate from them after the mechanics lost mine when rotating my tires) but that measly little knob isn't offered as a replacement part. :P Anyways I'm not even sure I *can* straighten it, it's *really* bent up. At first I thought some hooligans were trying to see how tough they were by tugging on it but now I guess maybe a car sideswiped me when I was parked somewhere, and got caught on the rack. Anyways its unusable right now.
I'm starting a new temp job tomorrow, doing data entry at a construction site. Something about weighing trucks and entering the figures into the database and then logging some other stuff. I dunno. Maybe it won't suck too much.
This morning I gave my rats Jake and Elwood away. I found someone local who would take them but they didn't want any of my stuff so I still have the cage and everything. Not sure yet if I want to try rats again. Call me hard-hearted but I never did get attached to Jake and Elwood - they certainly never got attached to me. They took up about a third of the living room, smelled, needed more maintenece than any other pet I've ever had, ate more than any other pet I've ever had (and I made half their food at home and special ordered the rest), I had to buy them accessories and hammocks weekly, and their cage cost more than the *parrot's* cage. I could have dealt with all of that if they were actually friendly, but they weren't, and I was frankly tired of it. I guess I should have rehomed them a long time ago, because with me they never got to come out or anything. Really, all three of us are better off now.
Oh and um...I'm getting a tax refund. :) Better than Jimlaaad did.
