Xel-Ha was pretty awesome, being sick while doing it not so much. But I clenched my asshole and snorkeled all over the place determined to have a good time. Snorkeling is pretty awesome, it's very relaxing to just float in the water watching creatures swim around and under you. We ran into a barracuda just kind of hanging out watching us, our experienced diver assured us he was more scared of us than we where of him, no one really believed him and we all gave him a wide berth. I did do some cliff diving but my stomach was entirely to happy about that so after a kilometer long "lazy" river I ended up sitting in a chair half dead and sipping water.

By the time I started to feel better the afternoon rainstorm kicked in and we had to take shelter. Sadly I can't say I did much else afterwords but the morning was a ton of fun and worth all the pain I felt in the afternoon.

Oh damn, I completely forgot but when we went to Coba (I keep typing Cobra) one of the guys in our group reminded me of Jon St. John he had a similar voice and I wanted to see if I could get him to say some of Duke's catchphrases but I let my shyness get the better of me.

The resort we stayed at was pretty amazing, I wouldn't have wanted to spend the entire week lounging around and going to the spa/pool/cove but even on the days we did it was great. Part of that was it being slightly off season and people scared of going to mexico, but the staff was awesome.

The only other outing we did was to, as Ran put it "...the Mexican Ocean City..." also known as Playa Del Carmen, where we did most of our shopping. Street hawkers can be fun but I know a lot of people who would have been poor within a block. More importantly we went to a sister resort and enjoyed the beach and some great waves from the tropical storm that was brewing out at sea and free food and booze.

Overall an awesome vacation, I'm sure I'm missing and forgetting stuff, like the free 24 hour room service and not crappy room service delicious food delivered to your door usually by some Myan dude. I think we will be returning next year with everyone else.

The trip home was uneventful, US customs didn't exist and we got waived through. Not that we had been carrying anything off but still kind of odd to see more serious customs in Mexico than the US.

Spent this past weekend reclaiming the main room from my comics, feels weird to not have them looming over everything.
This weekend Atar Teenage Riot at the 930 club. I can't wait.
