The cold I had last week is back. My throat is sore and hoarse and I feel generally cruddy and depressed. Not majorly depressed, just "Won't this crap ever end?"
I got my wish at work: more translated documents to edit. Yesterday Maria (A Spanish-speaking coworker) and I spent some intense time working on a document that was translated into English. When I couldn't tell what the translation meant, she could read the original and give me a better picture. Between the two of us we hammered 'em out but good.
I switched to DDR Max. As usual, I'm fumbly when I switch between post- and pre-Supernova mixes due to timing and screen resolution differences. No biggie, I'll get past that in a few days. But, sheesh, I don't get much exercise out of this mix. So many songs that burn barely any calories - and then there's beasts like HVAM and MAX 300. Out of pure masochism I tried the latter, and heck if I didn't pass it! Got a terrible grade, but, still! The thing that amazes me is realizing that I can now read it with no problem. 1.5x puts it at 450 BPM, a nice comfy speed, and I can see all the arrow patterns easily. If my legs can keep up, then I'm good. And I passed it this time while on cold meds. Sweeeet. Now if my throat and lungs will stop burning...
Today I made kushi dango for dessert. Those are mochi balls slathered with sweet soy sauce syrup, and they are indecently yummy. It's been over a year since I made those, and why did I wait? I think next I'll make some daifuku and sakura mochi.
