So there are mushrooms in my houseplant

There are mushrooms in my houseplant! What do I do?! I'd like to let them stay in there but I've heard you can get sick from certain types of mushrooms in your home. I'd rather not get rid of the plant entirely though either.

I thought this might be a good place to come.
