Tried out a new recipe yesterday.  Tomato eggs!  It's a simple recipe, but I must admit they're some of the best scrambled eggs I've had.  ^_^  I'll probably make some red bean pastries tomorrow, been craving sugar lately!

Much as I love Mexican food, I can't help but be amused how much more often I find myself cooking Asian food.  Like for Easter I cooked Egg Foo Young (don't think this really counts as authentic Asian food, but oh well!), along with string beans.  Then, as if I didn't have enough food I went and made orange chicken, much tastier than the stuff you ( Read more... )

It amuses me that any given week, I'm much more likely to cook some sort of Asian food than I am to cook something Mexican.  I blame it on growing up in Germany...that and the fact that most of the Mexican dishes my mom liked to cook when I was little was loaded with stuff I didn't like.  :p

 Yesterday I spent a couple of hours making this particular stew I really like, it's great too because it can feed me for several days.  Well, I just discovered that I *didn't* do a particularly good job cleaning the kale and....yeah.  Eww.  >_<  It didn't gross me out enough to make me lose my lunch or all of my appetite<--now that's a surprise!
