Relaxing in the swing

When I got home, Mom was sitting in the sunshine looking lovely, her white hair all curled so nicely. I got out and sat with her and sunbathed. Oh my goodness it's blissful to not have autumn cloud cover. At home the clouds came rolling in on Halloween and didn't part till nearly Christmas one year. They do part a day here and there at home but mostly, it's drab and dark.

I came down to refill the bubbles with Joy water and check on my bow. It had worked, it was well and truly glued back together!

It also worked better than it did before. I could tighten it and it still had all of its spring! Yippee!

So I went back up and played by ear again. I'm getting much better. I played:
White coral bells
How great thou art
Glory glory hallelujah
Streets of Lauredo
Oh Susannah

I'm amazed at how well I am able to pick out the distance between notes now! I'm really coming along wit these! Much more practice is needed, but I'm actually learning how to play by ear!

I've been playing other songs in the past few days, sometimes using a list of favourite campfire songs to spark my memory!

Mom went inside to rest and I put my violin away and lay outside on my hammock. It's so nuce out here, even if the sun has now sunk down a bit and left my feet chilly! Oh well!
