Summary: Rosette and Chrono at The Order
“Chrono! Chrono!” Rosette Christopher ran into the dining area, beaming. “There you are!”
The devil was sitting quietly at one of the long rows of tables sipping his soup. He smiled as Rosette entered. “Oh hey, Rosette. What’s going on?”
“C’mon! You’ll miss it!” The girl grabbed Chrono by the wrist and dragged him through the door.
“Okay, okay. I’m coming,” Chrono sighed, looking a bit wistfully after his soup. “Just where are we going?”
“You’ll see!” Rosette and Chrono ran through the stone corridors which stretched across the terrace to connect all the buildings. Chrono shivered as the corridors led through the outdoors which was covered with a layer of crystal-like snow.
“Wait! You’ve got to close your eyes!”
Shaking his head, Chrono obediently covered his eyes with his hands, only to have Rosette circle around, pulling him close and holding her hands over his eyes as well. “So there’s no peeking!” Rosette giggled, then pushed him forward.
Chrono could hear the soft sounds of a young girl singing from within the room. Azmaria, he guessed, as Rosette guided him. He felt warmth from every direction. From Rosette guiding him and from the room he was entering; a sensation that went beyond simple heat. There was love in this room, from all those who lived at The Order and those who had in years past, echoing off the walls.
“All right. You can open your eyes.” Rosette dropped her hands but still held on to his. “Merry Christmas, Chrono.”
