Ugh. I have been sick all week. People keep telling me that I look better today than yesterday, so I guess I'm going in the right direction (I actually feel worse, but maybe that's just the virus' last stand?)
Even in sickness, I'm plugging away at the last cowl in the Great Cowl KAL. I've gotten nearly halfway through. And then this happened at lunch today:
ARGH! I actually switched cables on my Denises last night, because the cable I was using had pulled away from its connectors and was catching on every. single. stitch. But that would be better than breaking completely! I am stopping at Great Yarns on the way home and picking up a size 6 Addi Lace. I'm so sick of my Denises! And maybe interchangables in general. The problems I have with mine (joint weakness, catching at the joint - and not just in this project), have been mentioned by people who have every other type of interchangeable, as well. It's just a flaw in the whole concept, I guess.
I think I managed to pick up all of the stitches, but they are definitely not all picked up properly. I hope that I can get things fixed with a new needle! Brioche is a little tricky, so I hope I don't have to rip back to the ribbing...
And... that's about it, I guess. Oh! Bright spot! I have a filled card for Great Yarns, so I can use it to pay for my needle! (Or possibly use it to buy a skein of sock yarn...)
