In fiction workshop, my stuff got workshopped.  Didn't learn anything I didn't already know.  What did occur to me is that (I think) my fanfiction doesn't suffer from the same problem my original fiction does.  I don't think I've ever gotten a "I was very confused" in my fanfiction like I have in my original fiction.  I'm not sure whether to tear ( Read more... )

Saturday met up with my mom's side of the family for New Year's.  Much good food and awesome company.  Was not pleased when my chunk of flounder turned out to be all egg; thank goodness my dad was nice enough to swap with me.  The soup was really good (shark fin I think); my first bowl didn't have any cilantro in it.  :)  Went back for another bowl ( Read more... )

ZOMG.  The Beijing Olympics.  Opening Cermemony.  I am wowed beyond belief.  It was...  I am still speechless of how freaking awesome it was; the sheer synchronism, the choreography, the inhuman precision!
