I find it hard to bead at home, with my kids always wanting to be in it with me, and beads being prone to scattering everywhere. Once a month, I attend a bead meetup, and I get to bead! I won't be able to continue with the mala until we can pick up replacement cording; I'm hoping to find waxed linen in an appropriate color. I have some in navy, for a long-delayed mixed materials pin weaving project. And I may consider starting that if I ever find my board for the pins; I don't know where most of my craft tools are after the move. ( Read more... )

One project that I've been putting off is creation of a mala for my husband (and one for me, too). A mala is useful in meditative practices, and since we both have chronic pain, it sounded like a way to manage that since so little actually works to help some days. I apologise for being a bit absent. I've been dealing with some chronic pain issues coupled with a very busy schedule. I've been able to make some time for crafting, but not posting. Anyway, to the pictures!

[Disclaimer: I had a bead meetup today, so I was able to work a lot more than 30 minutes on things for Day 1!]

I’ve had a repair commission sitting around for weeks while I found the right elastic to restring it. I should have bought both sizes that I found, because what I used was probably a bit big. It worked out in the end, though!
