...that went well...

So I hosted this Friday's (yesterday's) gaming club get-together. Jesse, Todd, Andrea, the new guy Kevin, Krista, and Bry came. Bry is Krista's roommate, and I have to say, after this second meeting...I'm liking Bry a whole lot more than I think I ever liked Krista. Bry's warmer, she's more open, and she actually seems to care about what I'm talking about whereas a lot of it just seemed to annoy Krista. I think she and I have a lot of getting-to-know to do. (I mean that in a non-creepy way, damnit)

As for the get-together itself, it went pretty well...we started with Guitar Hero, got Kevin in on it, then moved to SSBM. That's when Krista and Bry showed up...another good thing about Bry, she plays SSBM. Krista doesn't, and doesn't seem to want to either. She's not that bad at it, either =) Always a good thing. After that we started making characters for our pen and paper RPG, which is some kind of present-day thing involving witchcraft. When I say make characters I say it kinda tentatively since I spent a couple hours just talking anime/games with Bry. We're going to be doing a lot of anime/game exchange over the semester, I'd say...she has a lot of SNES games to play and I have a lot of anime to watch.

Anyway, eventually we actually got the game going. By that point, Krista was tired and sugar-high from the soda (which means she laughs at like everything) so that was fun. The campaign itself, eh...the system wasn't really fleshed out enough to be of any real consequence. I was the most serious one there; Krista was super-giggly, Kevin didn't seem to have any idea what situations to use his powers/was Amish/had an obsession with stone architecture, Jesse was GMing and incorporating the Sexual Harrassment Panda from South Park into the game, Bry was completely new to the process and had little idea of how to act, and I, in a rather serious oversight, only had one attack, albeit the most powerful attack in the game.

So that was my night. Who knows, maybe I'm not so crazy after all...
