Saw Sherlock Holmes.

Oh. Oh. It is just fantastic. I am in love. Everything about this film was near perfection. It is the closest vision of what I imagined Sherlock Holmes to be since I read the books at the age of 13.

So, I watched Twilight - New Moon over the weekend.

My verdict - I liked it. Like -like- without any hint of irony. The directing was good, the acting was better, and OMFG! The vampires are kind of cool and the werewolves are ADORABLE!

The Men Who Stare At Goats!!! OMFG! OMFG! OMFG! George Clooney and Ewan McGregor! A JEDI WARRIOR! AHAHAHAHA!

Also, movies that I really want to watch - The Boys Are Back and Where the Wild Things Are. Funnily enough I put both films in the 'Make Me Cry Buckets' folder. This cannot end well I tell you.

Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea - sweet, imaginative, and extremely trippy. Enjoyed it immensely, and is one of those films that is just enjoyable and, well, nice. I like nice, it is so rare these days. The animation in this is pitch-perfect.

Thumbs up.

Saw Transformers: ROF. I LIKE! Much more fun than Terminator and the action sequences are much better done than Wolverine. So, my current ranking for summer blockbusters;

• Star Trek - I love this film to bits. It made me love Kirk, and live long and prosper is the best f-off ever. SQUEE!

Saw the film - style over substance, shallow is also a nice term. Much homage to the first film, but still meh. May talk about this later but mostly I shall go and re-watch the The Sarah Connor Chronicles to make myself feel better.

That is, Star Trek is the better film.
