Cats are bad with dates. Being cats, they will never remember your birthday, and Christmas means little more to them than ribbons and a cozy spot under the tree. Don't even bring up anniversaries or other holidays

Damn, that cat loves you. To do battle with the terrible humbaba and shew you its dread corpse!
XD
You should definitely tell about the mouse-killing. I'm sorry I missed the actual mouse-hunt in my house. I love watching cats with their prey. If that makes me cruel, oh well. They're cats. It's what they're supposed to do.
My cat has been known to put captured live mice in the bathtub after playing with them for a while. They can't get away, so she can come back and "enjoy" her toy for a while longer.
I'm not sure which is worse the infernal racket generated by cat chasing mouse in the bathtub, or finding the expired former toy first thing in the morning when going to take a wakeup shower.
Since I live in the Northeast I have no experience of this myself, but apparently cats have amazing scorpion-killing skillz. It seems to be instinctual- more so than mouse killing, which is learned, or bird killing (which none of our cats have the knack of, and only one the instinct). They reportedly loathe scorpions and even pretty small kittens can do one it quickly. Part of their heritage of Fierce Desert Beasts, I suppose.
Neat! In Egypt, cats were considered the rivals par excellence of scorpions and snakes. No mention is really made of them being birders or mousers. Maybe there's something to that.
Now I'm thinking it's odd that I keep snakes, scorpions, and cats as pets together, and they don't care about one another.
Hmm, when our cats were a little younger they met a belt for the first time...
At first it was *blink*blink*stare* then cautiously bat at it. When I twitched it, they jumped back. At which point Catkin, our fearless hunter sauntered in, look one look, reared up on his hind legs and *pounced* hard and bit at the "back" of the "neck", gave it a shake to snap it's spine.. sniffed at it, batted it a couple of times and walked away as if to say "right, well. That's taken care of that.."

Well, other cat owners probably will.
I'm cracking up just thinking about it!
