Cra-a-a-a-a-ap.
It's warm in here, but it feels like my internal thermostat is wired up to the weather outside, which is brutally cold. I cannot stop shivering and shuddering, and I'm under two blankets and a kitty. Not fun.
There's a lot of different kinds of insomnia. This is the kind where I am so tired and run down during the day that my body doesn't distinguish when I am actually for-real needing to go to sleep. I'd drug myself, but drugs are not always your friend. Hell, I'll probably do it anway, if for no other reason than that the drugs will probably kick out the nightmares I've been having pretty much every night. I am awfully tired of those.
Of course, that means I won't get the nasty sex dreams either. Win some, lose some.
I finished my nephew's present today, completely. It's awesome. I made him a pirate chest with plastic jewels inside, some opalescent marble "pearls," some play beads, a huge golden glittery key on a silver chain, a pirate pouch full of pirate coins, and a sealed envelope containing a treasure map. I will get pictures, of course. I hope he likes it. It's exactly the kind of thing I would have loved to have as a kid, and would have played with endlessly. And none of it is particularly breakable or irreplaceable. The box will just look cooler the more it is abused and retouched.
My niece's present is almost done. The cat skull has been painted, the box has been made. I just need to make a Miskatonic University label and write out a history for it. I'll get pictures. I know she'll love it.
Sargon's present proceeds apace, and I can't talk about what it is, aside from saying that it's just a silly idea I had, but I think it's turning out pretty damn cool-looking. There will be pictures of that, too, eventually.
Everything else is not coming along at all, and I'm deeply annoyed.
And I am still shivering. Hard enough now that it's giving me pain in my shoulders. Fuck this, I'm getting into the bed where I can add an extra blanket and huddle with only my nose showing. This is ridiculous.
