It's warm in here, but it feels like my internal thermostat is wired up to the weather outside, which is brutally cold. I cannot stop shivering and shuddering, and I'm under two blankets and a kitty. Not fun ( Read more... )

Meredith and I had a rare chance to go out to a movie last night, and we saw that trailer while waiting for Transporter 3. Thought of you immediately, of course, while simultaneously lamenting the lack of Kate Beckinsdale in this movie.

Transporter 3, if you're wondering, is a lot of fun. No Oscar-winner by any means, but Jason Statham fights some dudes with his shirt off. That's pretty much worth the price of admission. The freckled, redheaded Ukranian leading lady was icing on the cake and really? The acting wasn't horrible. Definitely worth watching when it comes out on DVD.

It's effing cold here in MN, too. The weather channel says it's -8 right now, with a high today of -6.

Funny, it was in the 30s until around midday, when it decided to plunge 20 degrees in 5 hours, and obviously kept going overnight.

My car had better start. Ugh!

I hope you manage to get warm today!

It was 70 degrees yesterday afternoon at three, and by ten it was below freezing. I don't know if I've ever seen a temperature plunge that melodramatic.

I managed to get warm with three blankets, one doubled over, and two cats on me. I don't know what was up with the shivering. That completely sucked.

Ah, not fair! You have cat heaters!

Wish I had one of those right about now. The cubefarm is chilly enough that I'm still wearing my hat. Also, the water in our bathroom fails to produce water of any temperature other than goddamned freezing unless you run it for several minutes.

I'm frustrated that it's not expected to get back above 0 here until Thursday. Boo, I say! I may live in MN, but that doesn't mean I enjoy subzero temperatures!

I feel ya. We have a windchill of -20 today. It's evil. Even with all the windows shrinkwrapped, you can still feel the drafts, and the windows have been rattling and whistling all night. Not fit for man nor beast, and yesterday's high was in the 50s. What. the. Fuck.

Go sink into a hot tub. I've found when I used to shiver like that, it was the fastest way to warm me up. Then wrap up in the towel and scoot to the bedroom and have something hot to drink. Bowl of broth, some cocoa, tea, whatever, as long as it's hot. Then curl up in the bed... And this is where I get weird ( ... )
