I just don't understand how anyone, faced with that face and those paws and that belly and that kitten smell could possibly do anything other than what I have done. Or, if they couldn't, at least finding someone who could.

We domesticated their species thousands of years ago, brought them in from the desert and made them our companions. I think we owe them our loyalty.

The purring is what makes it all worthwhile. Even when she poops on me, she is purring. So I don't mind it as much, you know?
