Skipping Stones

I can't seem to quit writing today. There's much on my mind, mostly about how I perceive people vs who they really are.

Some day I'll learn to quit judging so harshly when someone throws me aside. I'll learn to see through my own pain and understand where they are in life so that I can move past it and let them hopefully find whatever it is they're looking for.

Skipping Stones

You skip relationships like you're skipping stones
Every wave created cuts right through your heart
Lady, that's no way to Love a man
Oh, that's no way to treat yourself

The oceans of life run deep
Even at night when you sleep...
There are memories running through your veins
Telling you it's time ... to quit skipping stones.

Throw your stones into the waters of life
Sink them deep into the heart of forever
They shouldn't touch the surface more than a second
Because Love should reach more than just the surface of your life

You feel left, unwanted, and you feel utterly used up
Through your day you say... I want to stay
Lady, you keep going though, walking on
Oh, that's no way to Love, no that's not how you Love someone

Your heart is a deep well of serenity
But you stay living on the surface of your past
There are ghosts swimming in circles, circles around you
Telling you it's time... it's time to quit skipping stones

So throw your stones deep into the water of life
Sink them forever into the depths of who you are
They should do more than just touch the surface if it's Love
Because ... forever should reach more than... the surface... of Love...

I know that your heart is worth forever and is deeper than the surface of ...your Love
