Prompt: Limit
Rating: Everyone
Note: This could, potentially, be used word-for-word in a chapter like a generation away and could therefore be very spoilery (insofar as I use that word anymore >.>). And I've used the prompt as more 'pushed past the Limit', in case anyone doesn't get that :P Also, neither of these characters has actually been born yet, so don't be worried if you can't think who they are X)

Edwin followed Timmy as he left the house and went outside without having said a word.
“What are we going to do about this?” he asked.
Timmy turned and raised his eyebrows at him, “You believe it?”
“It’s been weeks Timmy, and I had a bad feeling about it from the start!”
“I’m sure nothing bad is going on, okay? I know the guy in charge, remember? He wouldn’t let something like that happen. Hell, I’ve been there myself and I’m fine!”
“I just want to go with them and check. See for myself that they’re okay. If there’s nothing going on, they should let us.”
Timmy rolled his eyes. “You’re over-reacting to a bunch of teenagers claiming to have had what’s probably just a bad dream.”
Edwin frowned at him, “Your nieces and nephew, you mean?”
“Teenagers,” he shook his head dismissively.
“And if they are right, I’m not over-reacting, I’m under-reacting!”
“Well even if they are right, maybe there’s a perfectly good reason.”
Edwin stared. “A reason?! There’s no good reason to do something like that!”
Timmy narrowed his eyes at him. “In case you’ve forgotten, it was somebody like them that killed my sister. We know they’re dangerous.”
Edwin gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, struggling to restrain his temper. “Like them, Timmy, but not them. And hell, I’m not even convinced about that!”
“How can you say-?!” Timmy started, outraged.
“Look,” he continued forcefully, “I am sorry about what happened to Jasmine, I really am; I knew her and I liked her and I am very sorry. And I have tried to help you in every way I can, but she is dead. And now we’re talking about other innocent people: my parents, and, hell, even another of your sisters!
I supported you when it was your family, now are you going to support me when it’s mine?”
Timmy looked at him for a few moments and then looked away carelessly.
Edwin couldn’t prevent his breath hitching a little in his throat, but managed to bite out just one word. “Fine.”
