Two of the best films I saw this year are at the Brattle this week: Exit Through The Gift Shop on Wednesday, and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World on Friday. Both highly recommended!
This was my favourite piece of art at Burning Man this year: quiet, simple, uncredited, and poignantly pointing out what Black Rock City, as a supposed "metropolis", is missing.
I stumbled on The Philosopher's Garden while wandering out on the playa and was totally charmed. They had a "garden" of metal flowers, each petal of which explained a basic philosophical concept.
I mentioned in the recap of my last trip to London this great exhibit they have on at Kensington Palace right now, and did a pretty crap job of describing it. The NYT did a much better job, and included a lovely shot of one of my favourite things -- the dress made of origami cranes suspended from the ceiling.
When I landed Sunday morning it became rapidly evident that it was far warmer than had been forecast when I was packing. Ack. Fortunately, there is Marks & Spencer, and room in my suitcase for four more t-shirts
