HONEY IS A TEENAGER!

Oct 17, 2022 11:15

Yesterday was Honey's 13th birthday!

Moody teenager face.

She is still having problems with her elbows (the left one needed a small surgery a couple weeks ago, same issue - hygroma, but much smaller and caught much more quickly than the right elbow). Now she is uninterested in food. I think she may have a stomach ache from all the antibiotics and pain meds she has to take. I skipped her meds yesterday and she finally ate some rotisserie chicken, some Milkbones and a couple pieces of bacon. Sigh. It's so hard to know what to do.

The last few weeks have been a LOT. One thing that has kept me smiling though is Jupiter showing up and being the brightest light in the night sky, rising in the east just after sunset. There is so much light pollution where I live that it always makes me happy to see it!

My sister McG has been making 3D stained glass xmas trees. She will eventually put them on a base with lights inside. Maybe even spinning!

She and I got preapproved for a home loan and are still scouring zillow to see if there is anything out there that we like. It is such a process, but through it all we are at least figuring out more accurately what we do and do not want. Leaning much more heavily toward Virginia over North Carolina now. idk

My friend A is back from Alaska, so we went out last Saturday night to Hollywood Blvd. Not sure why we chose that locale, but it was actually a really fun time. I was the only person on the street wearing a mask, and when we stopped in to the Snow White Bar for some drinkies, I took it off and then didn't put it back on. It was 9 days ago now and no Covid so I feel like I caught a lucky break. :P

I've ordered a bunch of candles so I can make a shrine for all the candidates I want to win elections on Nov. 8. Can't hurt, right?

Work has been busy, and I am trying to keep up. :) Am also doing the art for grooot's fic and thinking about the two awesome fests that I signed up for. Am now starting to think that I may not be able to actually do the 25 Days of Drawing this year, as I have no idea where I will find the time.

Oh yesteday I did a thing. I have really good health insurance until Nov 1, then I switch to really bad health insurance. My chest was feeling really tight and my pulse was racing. I went to make an appointment to see my regular doctor but there was nothing available until Nov. 9. Very helpful. I thought about going to an Urgent Care, but my experience with those are that they kinda suck. So since I still have good insurance I went to the ER. Was seen very quickly, had an EKG and all the tests, including Covid. Turns out everything was fine but that I was really dehydrated. I got my first IV, very exciting, and I feel fine now. Am relieved that there doesn't seem to be any issues with my heart or lungs as I head into the world of crap insurance. (I could keep the insurance I currently have for $800/month, but only for 6 months, so...idk.)

And finally, it rained for like 10 minutes the other day! Very exciting stuff here in CA.

I hope y'all are doing well and having encounters that make you smile, and finding things to be happy about. ❤️
