On a trip to Nottingham castle, Guy encounters Marian for the first time and is left alone with her. He doesn't like her; she's too loud. And she's doing it on purpose too to get his attention.
He stubbornly refuses to listen. He sits on the other side of the room peeling his apple and smirking at her forlorn face. Marian doesn't care for his show of defiance; her big blue eyes widen and then shut tightly as she starts bawling with all the force contained in her tiny lungs. Guy presses his hands over his ears to block out the misery of her wails but to no avail.
"Alright!" he shouts back. "Alright you fat pink noise-maker, just stop crying!"
He gets up with a huff and walks to the table where her bowl is among her wooden toy sword and bow. He dices the very apple she didn't give him time to eat into the bowl and uses a fork to mash it. He is rather an expert at mashing apples having done so frequently for Isabella when she was still a baby.
Guy then sits across from this baby that is now watching him curiously (and a little hungrily) on the rug and begins feeding her in silence. Marian smiles at him and his forsaken lunch drips down her chin.
"Never again," he swears. "This is the last time I'm giving into your accursed wiles."
