We're Not in Kansas Anymore

Today was quite a day. You are probably wondering why I am not at my precious Geo's pizza. Well I shall tell you. Come, gather around my children and I will share the tale. I was at school this afternoon in Bible class when it began to get kind of stormy and a little rainy. Soon enough we started hearing the sirens go off. At first we thought we were just hearing things, but Mrs. Hill came over the intercom and started mass chaos by yelling "TORNADO WARNING!! TORNADO WARNING!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!" Of course everyone goes running like a flock of panicking chickens to the downstairs hallways. A deafening sound drowned out the preppie girls' caterwauling by the time I got out of the classroom. It was hail beating against the tin roof of the school. I couldn't even see out the window because it was as thick and white as snow. By the time I got downstairs there was almost an inch of hail on the ground. We had to sit in the hall for a half an hour, then they sent us home. In the car the Weather Service announced the projected path of the forming tornado, it was heading toward Geo's and my house. Great. So when I got to Geo's everyone was sitting in the dark because a transistor was blown and the whole town was out of power. Janet, the manager, and Phil, the owner, are out of town right now, so it was just us kids sitting in a dark restaurant amid the swirling clouds, roaming police cars and leftover hail damage. Kerik was managing and he said that we could go ahead and go home, but that if the power returned he'd call us back in. So now I am at home wishing I could have gone to work for something to do and people to be with. The money wouldn't be too bad either for that matter. I already had those sick days (UGH). So anyway, that is my day. At least it was interesting. I just wanted to see CC and enjoy the hub and pleasant bustle of my job. Cheers!
