Paris, revisited

Soooooo remember two years ago when I was planning a trip to Paris with some friends from Boston and things fell through because of x,y, and z reasons? Well I got a call on Thursday. The trip is back on. We're going NEXT MONTH.

The good news: the reason this trip is even happening is because one of the people I'll be traveling with is a Delta Airlines flight attendant, so we're paying very little for our plane tickets.

The bad news: I stopped saving for this trip over a year ago because I thought it was dead in the water, so needless to say I need to make some money - FAST.

Luckily I was saving with a high-yield savings account and for whatever excellent reason or another I decided not to touch that money. I checked my funds today...I have 50% more saved than I thought I had, which means I can pay for about 30% of this trip with my savings alone, and that is very encouraging.

I still need to raise over $1200 for tickets lodging and spending money. Commence the hustle.

As some of you may already know, I decided I would use my different skills to make this extra dough:

-Starting Monday I will be hosting a daily "Cookie Jar Bake Sale" at work, where hopefully my hungry cubicle comrades will want to buy fresh cookies each day. If you want some delicious baked items sent to you, I am taking orders.
-I am teaching sewing lessons to a friend tomorrow night. I can teach you too, whether it's machine or hand sewing.
-I can also teach embroidery and how to make stuffed animals.
-I am going to put my California shirts back on etsy. Stay tuned.
-I am considering auctioning the Feist album cover embroidery. Let me know if this interests you.
-I am mending clothes! So if there's a button you need sewn on, a hole in your jeans, whatever, leave me a message and we'll work something out.

This trip to Paris will be my first honest vacation in 7 years. I haven't gone anywhere but home in a very long time, so I'm pretty excited. I've been working my tail off, often seven days a week, to support more than just myself...I feel deserving.

Hopefully I can make this happen. And if you're sitting there thinking 'hey, I think I can help Jess out' then bless you and thank you, and hopefully I will hear from some of you!
