"It's true it takes one to tear down, but it takes two to rebuild..."

I have had some of the most interesting stuff going on lately! I'll try to write about everything that's been going on, but it's going to be difficult!

I think that my inner redneck is coming out because I went to see my first NASCAR race on Sunday. It was so much crazier than I thought it would be! The traffic started for us at 7:30 in the morning, but it was even going on before we got there. I could not believe the number of people that showed up for the race, it was surprising. I think one of my favorite things about the day was Truman telling me about butterflies "hibernating to Mexico." They will be forever known as "Truman butterflies" (thank you Haley for that omazing name for the butterflies). Haley and I saw some rough looking people yesterday, including a woman that had to be at least 70 years old who had her stomach hanging out of her shirt (I'm scarred for life, seriously). Oh... the other cool thing was that we got to our seats and heard some music. I started singing along before realizing that Third Day was playing there! I got to hear a free Third Day concert while waiting for the race to start and it was so exciting!

LA and I went to see the Ray Charles movie on Friday night at the Mall of Georgia. That movie... well, it kind of crushed my image of Ray Charles! I always thought of him as this sweet old man that sang great songs, but I found out quickly that he wasn't a really good person for a good bit of his life. It was so disappointing to find that out! I have to admit though that he was an incredible musician and he was really blessed with the gift of music. He did straighten out his life eventually, which is pretty admirable since he had such a rough life. All in all, the movie was good and had a heart-warming ending.

I have fallen totally in love with Dave Barnes. He seriously has the most gorgeous voice I've heard in a long time. His music is just beautiful and I wish I'd heard about him sooner. I'm going to leave you with some lyrics from some of his songs that have special meaning to me...

"I'd rather have sticks and stones than the words you say to me,
Cause bruises heal and cuts will seal but your words beat the life from me.

Goodbye is the best way that I know,
To forgive and still be letting go."

"I wish I had the words to make things right,
But they all get caught; my throat get tight.
Everything I do all seems to go so wrong.

This house of love has come tumbling down,
It could not withstand the strain.
but somewhere deep down between the rubble and ground,
There's love in the remains."
