could HAVE

Jul 24, 2009 02:56

Dear could of,
I hate you. Have you ever seen yourself in print in any reputable source of media (but not medium)? No, you have (not of) not. Do you know why? Because you, if you think about yourself even briefly, make no sense. COULD of? Well, no, you couldn't HAVE...because OF is a preposition, and have is an auxiliary, modal or sometimes just a good old-fashioned verb. I blame coulda (as in...woulda shoulda) for your existence, but you have truly taken idiocy to new heights. I wasn't upset about it before I perused a glossary of commonly confused words, but there you were, daring me to get angry. I almost want to write a thesis about you. You, further, and farther. A-whole-nother can come along as well, and maybe uninterested and disinterested. Well, the interesteds have already been thoroughly covered, so maybe not them. Definitely than and then should join us, because no amount of rubbing that in ever seems to be enough.
Respectfully (not respectively),
s.g.
