I will NOT suck dick to get a good grade.
Alright, I'm not saying that I'm such a badass that I should just GET an A. But here's the sitch: I come to my Russian History Since 1917 class every day, I do as much reading as can be reasonably expected of someone who has other shit to do in her life, I take good notes, and for CHRISSAKES I SPEAK Russian. So why do I keep getting B's on my Russian History tests that I prepare (extensively) for? Because my fucking TA has a crush on me and thinks that he can force me to go talk to him by giving me B's when I should clearly be getting A's.
My first hint of this situation was when I ran into said TA while getting my morning coffee before class. This was maybe the beginning of the 2nd week of class, so I was still getting my bearings. In fact, I didn't really recognize him. But somehow, he knew me.
"It's Samantha, right? Do you prefer to be called Sam?"
At this point I have maybe spoken once or twice in class. Our teacher makes us say our names so he learns who we are, but this is a class of at least 40 people. So it's a little creepy that he has had NO direct interaction with me, yet knows my name.
Then we had our first test. I studied a fair amount, and knew I would do fairly well. But when I got my test back I got an 85. Here's our test format: Answer 3 of 4 short answer questions, write 2 essays from 3 options off a list of 5 or 6 that we were given previously, with which to prepare. This is all in 1 hour and 15 minutes. If you're going to give us ALL that stuff to do in that amount of time, these essays are not exactly going to be works of art.
HOWEVER, I KNOW I kicked ass on the short answer questions, and I made probably 4 out of the 5 necessary points on both essays (pretty good for a fucking hour to write them in, yeah?). 85. What bullshit.
So whatever, I shrugged that off and kept going. At this point, I haven't missed a single day of class (I still have only missed 1 day and that was because I was moving yesterday). I take notes and I KNOW he sees me because practically every time I look up he's staring awkwardly at me. He has also ran into me several more times at the coffee shop and it has continued to be awkward.
We had our second test last week. I got THAT one back today - got an 88.5. I reread my essays. There was a check mark next to EVERY paragraph - but still no A? Honestly??? What am I missing?
And now I am forced to go talk to him because I deserve a good grade, which is exactly what he wants me to do. What an ass.
