Finally, I've reached our last day in Tokyo. We decided to spend the day at Shibuya, doing a spot of shopping, have lunch and make our way to the airport. We like the vibes at Shibuya and it's so vibrant. Stvn asked if I wanted to check out the statue of
Hachikō and upon my affirmation went searching for it. Many people were already there and we had to wait for our turn to take picture with this loyal and amazing dog. What a beautiful story between human and dog.
Once again, Stvn's meticulous meal itinerary was thwarted as the restaurant was closed! Sigh. Thankfully, he was less uptight about it and we decided to go to a restaurant based on what we felt like eating. I had in mind Okonomiyaki and when we passed by one, we went for it. Again, it turned out to be fabulous! I'm not really surprise actually because this is after all Tokyo and I haven't had any "bad" food.
The okonomiyaki at
Botejyu was excellent. It was originally established in Osaka in 1946 and apparently was the first to use mayonnaise when cooking Okonomiyaki. Isn't this interesting? I love my okonomiyaki with mayo!
Following lunch we made our way back to the apartment to finish up with packing before leaving for the airport. We gave ourselves ample time however we didn't expect Stvn to get held up at the ticketing station during the refund process. By the time he got back to me (I waited at another place with all the luggage) we were quite late and worst of all we didn't exactly know where to go. It was a mad mad rush and we ran with our luggage - 3 in all. It must have been quite a sight! I ran so fast that I could hardly breathe.
We got to the right place just in the nick of time! Literally. The train left within 30 seconds of our arrival. That's Japanese efficiency and punctuality for you. We were so thankful that we caught the train in time. Phew that was so stressful! Consequently I recuperated by sleeping the entire journey to Narita.
We loved our experience in Tokyo despite the hiccups here and there. Truly it is a country that we will love to return over and over again. Looking forward to exploring other parts of Japan in future for sure. Just out of curiousity do you have a favourite city in Japan? Pray tell and let us know why you like that particular city :) Recommendations are welcome too.
Thanks so much for reading. It has taken me a while and I'm very glad I'm done with Tokyo. Click

Ooishiiiii!!!
Yakisoba was really delightful too.
At ANA lounge where soba is served.
We concurred that ANA inflight meals are superior to SQ.
