I love parks. Whenever I travel do make it a point to check out the parks and for this reason I love NYC because there are so gorgeous many parks there. In Vancouver, my favourite is Stanley Park for sure.

We decided to rent a car for one day to check out the Columbia River Gorge. The drive there was relatively simple and once we got to the Historic Columbia River Highway, the drive was extremely scenic. We stopped several times to see the gorgeous waterfalls along the way. Big Sur is a fabulous place for hiking and that's the main activity that we did on the second day of our stay. We checked out three different locations namely Pfeiffer Beach, Andrew Molera State Park and Pfeiffer Big Sur State ParkEach of the location has its own appeal and Stvn and I loved our experience at Andrew Molera SP the most. For our accommodation at Big Sur, we opted for a new experience in that we stayed in a yurt. Our yurt faced the gorgeous view of the ocean and it felt awesome to be so close to nature. When we visited Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea three years ago, we didn't make it to Big Sur. It has always been on our mind that we should return and we finally did last March.
