Thankfully not a suicidal person trying to jump but a public art exhibition by Antony Gormley as part of Mad. Sq. Art 2010.
In
Event Horizon, "there are thirty-one life-size body forms of the artist cast in iron and fiberglass which inhabit the pathways and sidewalks of historic Madison Square Park, as well as the rooftops of the many architectural treasures that populate New York’s vibrant Flatiron District". Definitely an interesting and creative idea but I can also imagine the panic that the unsuspecting persons would feel, thinking it was a suicidal person trying to jump and this did
happen. I must have not paid attention to the tour guide when he did his spiel as this nuggets of information slipped off my mind until a friend asked me about it. Thankfully I did take a couple of shots of this life-size statue and not missing this public art totally.
