People in Arizona don't know how to drive in the rain.

Case in point, the car accident I was involved in last night.

It rained all day, the roads were wet, traffic was a BITCH and it was pitch black outside by 6pm. All this equaled up to me being rear-ended on my way to Gloria's house. Traffic was backed up through an intersection so I stopped at the line even though the light was green. I watched the car in my rear view mirror and thought, "she's going to hit me." Sure enough! My car has about $5-6k worth of damage done to it and I'm currently driving a Nissan Versa rental from Enterprise. I contacted the woman's insurance this morning and filed a claim. I haven't heard anything from them, but Kerri tells me it's normal to have to wait 24-48 hours to hear anything after you file. I was really surprised the Nissan dealership had a quote back as fast as they did. At least they're on the ball.

I wasn't hurt (just stiff and sore) but I was really pissed off. Mainly because Gloria left today to move back to Dallas and last night was my final opportunity to say good-bye. Obviously after waiting for my Dad for an hour (in the rain), and for a tow truck for another hour (in the rain), seeing her was not an option.

I'm also pretty pissed because of what a pain in the ass the whole thing is going to be. These things always are. There was little to no damage done to the other vehicle so that woman was off on her merry way within 15 minutes of slamming into me. And yet here I am having to deal with insurance agencies, collision repair shops and rental cars. Smack dab in the middle of Christmas - which is already a difficult time of year for me.

Bah. Humbug.
