Everyone in the medbay was holding their breath as Doctor Barnes watched the two-year-old, checking the medication levels. His mother was leaning over him, humming a tune and running her fingers through his hair.
They had to wait until Max was sedated before she would risk setting his arm.
"Mommy," he cried quietly. It didn't hurt as much as when he fell off the catwalk, but he didn't feel good.
"Daddy went to get her," El whispered. "She's going to be here before you know it." El gave a look to Chapel and frowned.
Dree was going to kill her.
