Dree walked into the spa and smiled as she was greeted by a young woman standing behind the desk. After a quick greeting, Dree leaned against the counter and glanced at the list of options.
"What's the name?" the woman asked, already opening up the day's schedule.
"Oh, I'm not here for a visit," Dree replied, shaking her head. "Actually, I'm looking to make a reservation. But, I had a question, first." The young woman nodded and smiled. "I'm trying to set up a nice overnight for my sister and her husband... and I thought that a stop here might help them relax a little." They'd sent most of the women in the family over, previously, and each of them had nothing bad to say about the experience.
"We offer quite a range of treatments," the woman nodded. "Individual and pairs, which are very romantic," she added with a smile and nod. Dree smiled and nodded with her.
"Well, before I can make any decisions, I need to know if you can work around a wheelchair." Dree nodded and explained: "It's a new addition to the house, and they're still adjusting, which is why I'm trying to give them a little break. Dinner," she said, pointing in the direction of the main building, "and a night away from the rest of the family."
The woman behind the desk smiled warmly and nodded. "We do offer some packages which can be modified. Is this wheelchair permanent or temporary?"
"Permanent," Dree replied. "He can move between the chair and the bed, or stand for a few minutes with support," she continued. The woman nodded and reached for a small stack of paper. Pulling a single sheet from the stack, she passed the page over the desk.
"These are the packages that we have, which are most compatible with wheelchairs." Dree gave the short list a glance and nodded. "This one is a combination of the sports package and the regular. It's fairly popular, as the runners are pretty locked up after the marathons," she added with a smile. Dree smiled and looked at the list again, fighting a smile as she tried to picture someone trying to give Wyatt a pedicure.
"I think I'd like to try that one, then. For him," Dree nodded, then smiled at the woman. "And just a regular for my sister. They can be together, though?"
The woman smiled and nodded. "Of course." She turned toward the computer screen and began typing on a hidden keyboard. "Is there a day you have in mind?" she asked, glancing at Dree.
"Any day that's available," she nodded. "We're on your schedule." The woman smiled again and looked back to the screen.
"I can squeeze them in on Wednesday..." the woman said, then winced and shook her head. "Otherwise, my next available opening is next Tuesday."
Dree nodded. "Let's do Wednesday, then." She still had to get a room and the dinner reservations, but this appointment was the one that was hardest to get. The woman made quick work of getting all the pertinent information, and showed the reservation to Dree, specifically pointing out the note regarding the wheelchair. After thanking the woman for her help, Dree left the spa and headed across the hotel grounds, toward the main lobby.
Half an hour later, she had made room and dinner reservations, also arranged around Wyatt's wheelchair.
