I haven’t had my coffee nor my quiet time this morning, so this may be a little whiny. You’ve been warned.
I’ve been cleaning and preparing like crazy for the BIG DAY tomorrow and I don’t think I’ll ever get everything done in time. I’m beginning to suspect that there will come a point when I have to surrender my perfectionist tendencies on the altar of practicality and move on. Going into the hospital stressed out over whether or not the pantry is organized seems somewhat silly, you know?
At the same time, yesterday it became soooo much more important that I have things done by this afternoon. Trooper’s doctor called and rescheduled HIS surgery for the 1st of August. That leaves me approximately four days to recover (thank goodness it is only a laproscopic procedure) before Trooper’s adenoids are removed.
I have help on Thursday-Sunday morning (thanks,
callmelydia)
Honored Friend will be very available to me Sunday and Monday
Beloved Husband has Tuesday-Thursday off (2nd surgery that Wednesday*)
Mom arrives Friday with Sassy Sister & Snarky Sister in tow (ages 10 & 15)
*Still searching for an all day playdate for Little Man during Trooper’s surgery
So it will be a very busy week any way you look at it. If we can get through this week, though, we should be homefree. I hope. I can’t believe how generous everyone is being with their time and helping us out. It’s very humbling and… kewl.
The thing that was supposed to be at least plotted out by today - and is subsequently getting shoved to the side so that I can grocery shop and scrub toilets - is the Beyond the Saga Awards show. I’m beginning to really, really stress.
I’ll try to update a note here and there over the next week but I plan on shamelessly using the good pain meds they are sending home with me so I don’t know how often that I’ll get a chance.
