MJ2015 Scheduling Overview!

Muskrats! It's just about NINE WEEKS 'til Muskrat Jamboree 2015! We wanted to give you a quick scheduling overview, for your advance-planning needs. More detailed stuff is to come, but this is just so you know with what you are working, time-wise.

MJ2015 is an age 18+ convention. You must be a registered attendee and have your name badge visible in order to have access to any con space (including the con suite, panel rooms, dance party, and vid show). No unregistered guests will be admitted - this includes children, friends, etc. Badges are not replaceable, sharable, or transferable.

Registration takes place:

Thursday, March 19, 7PM - 8:30PM in The Loft (off of the hotel lobby)
Friday, March 20, 8AM - 4PM, reg table outside the con suite, 3rd floor
Saturday, March 21, 9AM - 5PM, reg table outside the con suite, 3rd floor

If you are unable to do so during those times, you may arrange for a fellow con-goer to pick it up for you. You must email muskratjamboree at gmail dot com to let us know who will be doing the pick-up for you.

Registration:

Please note: You must pick up your registration packet during the times stated below. There will not be the possibility of picking up your registration packet other than at the stated times. If you are unable to do so during these times, you may arrange for a fellow con-goer to pick it up for you. You must email muskratjamboree at gmail dot com to let us know who will be doing the pick-up for you.

Registration Hours:

Thursday, March 19th, 7PM - 8:30PM: MJ2015 Registration will be open in The Loft, a small reception area located directly off of the lobby of Le Meridien Hotel (across from the check-in desk). This is directly adjacent to Sidney’s Grille and Lounge, the hotel restaurant and bar. Look for the Women in Media sign! Come meet the con organizers and pick up your registration packet!

Please feel free to congregate at Sidney’s afterwards to eat, drink, and be merry with your fellow con goers!

Friday, March 20th, 8AM - 4PM: MJ 2015 Registration will be open at the reg table directly outside the Con Suite (Hunsaker Ballroom), located in the convention area on the third floor of the hotel.

Saturday, March 21st, 9AM - 4PM: MJ 2015 Registration will be open at the reg table directly outside the Con Suite (Hunsaker Ballroom), located in the convention area on the third floor of the hotel.

When you register, you will receive a registration packet, which includes your badge holder and badge. You must have your badge visible at all MJ2015 events. We will be checking badges as you enter and exit the con suite, vid show, and dance party. Your badge is not replaceable, sharable, or transferable.



Con Suite:

The Hunsaker Ballroom will be the location of the Con Suite throughout the weekend. This is located in the convention area on the third floor of the hotel and will be open Friday, March 20th from 8AM - 4PM and Saturday, March 21st from 8AM - 5PM.

You con comm will officially welcome you at 8AM and we will be having an ice breaker on Friday morning in the con suite immediately after the con comm welcome! More info on the ice breaker is coming soon!

We'll have a swap table in the con suite, if you have any fannish-type stuff you want to put out there for fellow fans to take!

We'll have a craft table in the con suite for all your glittery fannish needs - more info on that forthcoming!

We're planning a Muskrat Raffle again this year - more info on THAT forthcoming, as well!

Although con programming ends on Saturday, the Con Suite (Hunsaker Ballroom) will be open to attendees on Sunday, March 22nd from 9AM - 11AM so you can bid farewell to your fellow con-goers! Coffee and pastries will be served. There will be an official Muskrat Farewell at 10:30AM that day.



Panels:

We will have two panels hourly from 9AM through 4PM on Friday, March 20th, and from 9AM through 5PM on Saturday, March 21st. There will be a one-hour break (with no panels scheduled) at 12noon on both days.

Vid Show and Dance Party!

Friday, March 20th, 6:30PM: Join us in the Con Suite for drinks, food, and the Muskrat Jamboree 2015 VID SHOW!

Cash bar will be open from 6:30PM - 11PM. Light appetizers will be served starting at 6:30PM.

Vid Show begins promptly at 7:30PM in the Con Suite! The first half will run for 30 minutes, with a 15 minute break (for more drinks and snacks!) at 8PM. The second half will begin at 8:15PM and conclude at 8:45PM.

Immediately after the Vid Show, get ready to PARTY at the Muskrat Dance Party in the Luscomb Ballroom, located on the same floor as the Con Suite, running till 11:30PM! Come dance to the music mix of AWESOME.

On Saturday, panels start at 9AM and wrap up at 5PM and after that, you are free to explore the awesome options of Cambridge’s Central Square!

Travel:

From Logan Airport via the MBTA:
At your airport terminal, in the vicinity of baggage claim, there will be signs pointing outside for Ground Transportation. You're looking for the , which is part of the T (which is short for MBTA, which is short for Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority). The Silver Line bus will take you to the South Station stop on the Red Line.

Once you arrive at the South Station stop on the Red Line T stop, $2.65 will get you a ticket at one of the machines you'll find there (they take cash or credit or debit). You want to take the OUTBOUND train (towards Alewife) five stops to CENTRAL SQUARE STATION.

Upon exiting the subway stop, you will head southeast on Massachusetts Avenue less than half a mile and make a right at Sidney Street. Our hotel will be immediately in front of you at 20 Sidney Street.

From South Station via the MBTA:
Take the OUTBOUND train (towards Alewife) five stops to CENTRAL SQUARE STATION.

Upon exiting the subway stop, you will head southeast on Massachusetts Avenue less than half a mile and make a right at Sidney Street. Our hotel will be immediately in front of you at 20 Sidney Street.

From North Station via the MBTA:
Take the Orange Line INBOUND (towards Forest Hills) three stops to DOWNTOWN CROSSING. At Downtown Crossing, change to the Red Line OUTBOUND (towards Alewife) four stops to Central Square.

Upon exiting the subway stop, you will head southeast on Massachusetts Avenue less than half a mile and make a right at Sidney Street. Our hotel will be immediately in front of you at 20 Sidney Street.

From the Subway, walking:

Driving:

From the North
Follow Interstate 95 South to Interstate 93 South.
Continue on Storrow Drive, going west.
Exit (Route 2A/N) Massachusetts Avenue.
Continue over the bridge.
Pass four lights and turn left onto Sidney Street.
The hotel is one block down on the left.
From the West
Follow Interstate 90 East (Massachusetts Turnpike) to exit 18 (Cambridge/Somerville).
Continue over the bridge.
Continue straight to River Street.
Pass four lights and turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue.
Pass three lights and turn right on Sidney Street.
From the East
Follow signs through Sumner Tunnel to Storrow Drive.
Continue west to Massachusetts Avenue (Route 2A/N Exit).
Continue over the bridge.
Pass four lights and turn left onto Sidney Street.
The hotel is one block down on the left.
From the South
Follow Route 3 North or Route 95 North to Interstate 93 North.
Continue on Storrow Drive, going west.
Exit (Route 2A/N) Massachusetts Avenue
Continue over the bridge.
Pass four lights and turn left onto Sidney Street.
The hotel is one block down on the left.

Cab:

A cab ride from the airport to the hotel will cost approximately $30 - $40 US dollars. Even though Massachusetts law states otherwise, you still run into some cabs that won't take credit cards, so just be prepared. There are cab stands at the airport - just follow the signs! We'll have a ride-share post up shortly!
