Quite a few things to report around these parts.
1. Went to Minnesota again for business, finally got to visit the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul) with a friend in the area. A full write up of the trip to come.
2. Have taken a few baking classes at Cathcart & Reddy that have been fun: french macaroons and souffles. Both are relatively simple recipes that require a great deal of precision, with delicious results.
3. Saw a few shows and movies, as well: Legendarium by the Big Apple Circus, which had some fun tricks, Argo, which was an excellent, well-acted movie.
4. Had some good eats: had afternoon tea at Alice's Tea Cup, which was tasty and fun. Had small plates at Hagi, a tiny Japanese izakaya that was delicious. And tried out a bunch of restaurants in my neighborhood, which was good.
5. Now I am hunkering down in preparation for Hurricane Sandy and charging all my electronics in case the power goes out. Stay dry and stay safe to everyone in the storm's way!
