1. The new apartment is almost done in terms of organizing/decorating/etc. The bathroom is pretty much done (will probably be trying to hang some art in there in the next few days), the balcony is cleaner since I swept/organized it (and will be trying to decorate it--wish me luck), and my bedroom is now fully furnished. 1. Thanks to some Groupon offer or another, I have discovered the website Craftsy.com, which teaches online classes on various crafts ranging from cake decorating to knitting. I took a class called The Art of Cloth-Dying, which was quite detailed and interesting, and got into the science of how dyes work. I doubt I'll start dying anything on my ( Read more... )

1. Saw Brave a few weeks ago, which was cute enough, but not one of my favorites from Pixar. Still, I am happy to see that it did pretty well in box offices and will hopefully persuade studios to make more kids movies featuring female protagonists. 1. Had a beautiful day yesterday. Went to Central Park Zoo for the first time despite having passed it literally dozens of times over the years. It was small but featured some surprisingly nice exhibits: an aviary, a polar bear (hiding in the shade), lemurs, mongeese, puffins (so cute), and a eurasian eagle-owl.
