You play hard to get. I play hard to get rid of.

Well, I just finished the last 2 episodes of That 70's Show. The 8th season definitely got weird without Topher Grace and especially once Ashton Kutcher finally left. I've never really thought too much about Kutcher as an actor, but I must say that he is a genius physical comedian. Perhaps his acting chops will grow over the years as well. The new guy--Josh Myers--did his college best, but how do you make a successful jump onto a show with 8 seasons of the same cast that's ending? Tough gig.

I will say that I'm more than a little sad it's over. Many of the plot threads were wearing thin and the situations got less and less believable as time went on, but overall it was a great ride. And some part of me feels like the whole gang had become my friends over the years, cheesy as that sounds, because I've watched the show on and over over the past ten years (and in a more concentrated form over the past year). I almost wish they had done an American Graffitti style cut to cards describing all their futures, or even a flash forward episode. I actually did like the note they ended on--the end of the 70's, the beginning of a new year--but a part of me wants to still check in on all the characters, see how they're doing and what they're up to, like old classmates or friends. Maybe there will be a reunion episodes or TV special one day. Who knows. Farewell, 1970's and That 70's Show. May your memories always linger.
