Ever since I returned from Manila, I have been restless for the rest of the week. Santi and I constantly talk; I even bought a sun sim card so I wouldn't have to worry about my load. What helped me take my mind off of things was the girls' visit to Cebu, and our (sort of) planned daytrip to Bohol!
Vilma, Pat, Janine and Ceres arrived Friday afternoon. I picked them up the airport and brought them home to my apartment, where we got settled. Then they prepared for the night, dressing up in their part clothes. We had dinner at the IT Park first, then went to Vudu, Cebu's equivalent of Embassy (which isn't saying much because it's not a very big club anyway) and went dancing. Janine bagged a couple of dudes, but we all left them anyway.
We had a late midnight snack (or very early breakfast) then rushed back to my apartment to get their bags before rushing to the pier for the Supercat to Bohol. We arrived late though. We decided to swing it and take the ferry to Tubigon, instead of Tagbilaran. Little did we know that this would drastically change our plans.
We took a very dizzying ride through rough seas to Tubigon. The weather wasn't complying at all. Thankfully it was quite sunny when we got there. We took the bus to Tagbilaran, and wandered around aimlessly when we got there, until we found a jeep for hire.
The Jeep took us to the Tarsier Sanctuary. They were very cute! But obviously quite sad that their habitats have been reduced to these small, fenced in "sanctuaries" where they are hand-fed dead insects. Then we took a riverboat cruise along the Loboc River. The food was okay, but it was quite a nice experience to go down this main artery of Bohol. The "cultural presentation" at the end was kind of cheesy though, but hey, anything to support the local communities.
The highlight of the trip was supposedly the Chocolate Hills, which we did get a glimpse of, until it started raining like hell. We ran back to the jeep to take us back to Tubigon. There, we waited restlessly until 10:00pm for the ferry boat to take us back to Cebu. Needless to say, we were all exhausted.
Their last day was pretty fun. We hung out at the beach and chilled. I'm so happy that they dropped by and momentarily filled my sordid life. I miss these girls.
