About S
The past few days with S have been unlike how I imagined. I invited him to drink with Vilma and Jeanne and the rest of the gang, and we ended up spending the night together. We both had our reservations, because it felt like a one-night stand, but we got to know each other better, and I was fascinated with what I found out.
The chance encounter in Cinemalaya was not the first time we were in the same place together. Since he studied in Makiling, he knows Isab, my friend Carl's sister. Whenever Vilma and I went to a Makiling event, chances are, he was there. He hosted the launching of Alyx's book at the back of Vinzon's Hall. He was there at "Hatol ng Guhit na Bilog".
He currently lives in an apartment in Cubao with Adrian and Frances, two schoolmates from UP Film. I loved hanging out there and just cuddling with him in the morning while the rain falls outside.
He is not the typical person I am attracted to. He is flamboyant, a fashion designer, very theatrical. But we had so much in common too. We like art films, we like music. He is a very fascinating person, and within such a small time span, I guess I have become attached to him.
It was sad the last day we were together. I was going back to Cebu to finish my schooling. I told him that; also, that I would be returning to the US later this year. I wanted to get this out before we did something stupid.
I waved goodbye to him as I left his apartment in Cubao. He called out to me, and asked if I wanted to keep in touch with him.
And I said yes.
