We were talking about the old times and singing songs for you

May 17, 2014 12:09

So the old Yuletide archive has been imported to AO3, and they very quickly linked my stories that were under the old unfitforsociety address with my gmail address/AO3 account when I asked, so my Yuletide history: 2004-2008:

2004:
A Haiku of Color and Vengeance (2918 words) by victoria_p
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Homicide: Life on the Street
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences

Relationships: Kay Howard/Beau Felton, Frank Pembleton/Mary Pembleton
Characters: Kay Howard, Tim Bayliss, Frank Pembleton, Mike Kellerman, Meldrick Lewis
Additional Tags: Yuletide, Yuletide 2004, 5 Things, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence

2005:
And I Shall Be Healed (1259 words) by victoria_p

Characters: Sean Derry, Alaric Morgan
Additional Tags: Yuletide, Yuletide 2005, Forgiveness
Summary: "I can't trust myself, after what I've done. How can I possibly expect you to trust me?"

Rereading this now, man, the Deryni books were probably way more influential on me than I acknowledge. I read them at 12-14, right alongside Pern and Eddings, so it makes sense they would be.

2006:

Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Kay Howard/Megan Russert
Characters: Megan Russert, Kay Howard
Additional Tags: Yuletide, Yuletide 2006, Canonical Character Death, Wakes & Funerals

Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Miranda Priestly/Andrea Sachs
Characters: Andrea Sachs, Miranda Priestly
Additional Tags: Yuletide 2007, Yuletide
Summary: Andy hasn't let herself go.

This is, surprisingly enough, my second most popular Yuletide story (the first is the Raj/Howard BBT story I wrote in 2009).

2008:
A Far Better Fate Than Wisdom (1949 words) by victoria_p
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Swordspoint Series - Ellen Kushner
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply

Characters: Alec Campion, Richard St Vier
Additional Tags: Yuletide, Yuletide 2008, Coda, Plot What Plot/Porn Without Plot
Summary: "Look at you," Alec said, "letting an injured man do all the work."

Until the Sea Shall Free Them (1331 words) by victoria_p
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: The Iliad - Homer
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Achilles/Patroclus
Characters: Patroclus (Greek and Roman Mythology), Achilles (Homer)
Additional Tags: Yuletide 2008
Summary: Patroclus knows there is a reckoning coming, probably sooner rather than later, but for now, he chooses to lose himself in the heat of Achilles' body.

This one I actually remembered I had already uploaded so I sent them the link prior to the import and now all the old comments are there! Magic!

Now my question for the lot of you is this: I had a NYR story that I wrote in 2005 and then uploaded to AO3 myself without importing it, mainly because I don't think I remembered it was a NYR story? Anyway, I didn't notify Open Doors about it, so it's duplicated. What do you think I should do with it?

This is the story in question, from where I uploaded it:
Virtuous Service (1148 words) by victoria_p
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Alexander Trilogy - Mary Renault
Rating: Mature
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Alexander the Great/Hephaistion
Characters: Alexander the Great, Hephaistion
Additional Tags: Yuletide, Blow Jobs, Established Relationship
Summary: Hephaistion knew himself blessed beyond measure.

It only has two comments on the YT archive version, though they are lovely comments and I'd hate to lose them. But I also don't feel like I need to have a duplicate story, even if I leave it locked to archive users only. What do you think?

(and if you're interested in reading any of my more recent yuletide stories, they are all linked from here: https://pinboard.in/u:musesfool/t:yuletide)

Now I need to fortify myself for the hockey game. *eep* I spent the morning cleaning out my dresser and half of the closet, so I have five bags of clothes to go to Housing Works, and I put out about five bags of hangers for garbage. There's still more to go, but I was too sweaty and dusty to continue.

Also, "Ship of Blue and Green" is another song for a Steve/Bucky vid. IJS.
