Dear yuletide writer:
First of all, I want to say a big thank you for agreeing to write a story for me. I love all the characters I've chosen, so I will be happy with a story for any request.
Since it's entirely possible we don't know each other, I figured I'd give you some tips on the kinds of things I like in stories, such as:
banter, people who are friends having fun/adventures together, drunkfic (er, fic where the characters are drinking, not where you write it while drunk), humor, and hopeful endings. I also like stories that make me all achy in the chestal area. If you can make me laugh and cry at the same time, I will follow you around with hearts in my eyes.
I'd really rather not have stories that are super-dark and angsty. I like hopeful, not unhappy endings. In cases where it can't end happily, I really dislike despair. I need some kind of hope, some light at the end of the tunnel.
I have a huge embarrassment/humiliation squick, so please avoid that. Please also avoid rape, non-con, misogyny, *isms, and character-bashing.
Mostly, I want the characters to sound like themselves and have fun hanging out with each other, because I love hanging out with them. These are all just possible jumping off points if you feel the need. If you've already got a story in mind, then go for it, I'm sure it will be fabulous.
In terms of specifics, I feel like I am really just reiterating my requests in different words, but maybe this will be helpful:
Under the Red Hood
Jason Todd, Dick Grayson
I realize they barely interact in the movie, but I would really love to read about what happens when they do, given their various issues and how they act as foils for each other. Snarking! Punching! Ill-advised making out! Um, yes, I do ship them pretty hard, but gen is good, too. One caveat - I would prefer not to receive a story where they have sex while Jason is still Robin.
I do ship them, but gen where they fight crime (or zombies, or go grocery shopping or eat tacos or whatever strikes your fancy) together would also be awesome.
I like stories where Jason desperately wants to win back his place in the family, but because of his methods/choices, he can't. Stories where Jason's identity issues and his resentment about feeling like a substitute are front and center would be most welcome, as well.
While I would enjoy reading gen about them while Jason is Robin, if you're writing slash, I really don't want any sex between them set before Jason dies. I'm much more interested in Jason upon his revival, and how him not being dead screws with what the others have been telling themselves about how and why he died. I feel like I'm talking way too much about this, which is kind of the state of my fannish life right now, *snerk* but if you need more info about my thoughts on the subject, I talk about them a lot in entries tagged hoods and birds. Lastly, I really don't care for either Bruce/Dick or Bruce/Jason, so please don't include either in the story. Oh, also, I can, uh, provide the source if you need it.
Crush - Richard Siken
Henry, Theodore
I love Siken's poetry and this book, and I'd love something about Henry and Theodore, especially in "Driving Not Washing" and/or "Wishbone" - how did they get there? Will they ever get it together? (hint: I would like it if they did, but if you want to keep it unrequited, that's okay, too.) Will Henry give in? Will Theodore bleed out on the seat? Where are they going? Road trips are awesome! Feel free to talk about that part of it a lot if you like.
Crush is a very slim volume of (awesome) poetry, and some of the poems concern two guys named Henry and Theodore, who are on a road trip across the country. Possibly they are outlaws, or they see themselves as outlaws, anyway. Theodore is and has been in love with Henry for a long time, and Henry either can't or won't return his feelings, but Theodore keeps hoping, anyway.
I would actually prefer not to get a story in verse, so don't feel like you have to do that. What I really want is some fleshing out of the boys and their relationship - where they're going and where they've been. Slash would be awesome but if you want to keep it unrequited between them, that's great, too. Again, I can link you to some source material if you need it.

Charlie Crews, Rachel Seybolt
I would really like some bad wrong Charlie/Rachel where they have angsty bickery sex even though he was, like, her favorite uncle and he sees her as his niece/goddaughter. I'd like to see the tension between them explode - her daddy issues and his guilt colliding in desperate, rough sex. If you can't do that, gen where it is very fraught between them would be good too.
I think my optional details cover what I'm looking for here.
The Blind Assassin - Margaret Atwood
The Blind Assassin, The Mute Priestess
He's a blind assassin sent to kill her! She's a mute priestess awaiting her ritualized rape by the king! They end up on the run together in the middle of the night! I feel like there is a lot of potential for awesome stories here. It makes me happy to think about their adventures together, both on the road and in bed, so a story tackling one or both of those topics would be awesome!
While reading "The Blind Assassin," I found myself really interested in the story within the novel. Tell me more about the blind assassin and the mute priestess and their relationship and the world they live in. Het or gen is fine.
So, to sum up. You are awesome for writing a story for me! I'm sure the story you write will be awesome!
