i'd still be half of what you need
Man, I need this weekend so much. For a short week, this week was difficult. Meh. I am going to SLEEP SO HARD this weekend. And answer comments and email. And hey, maybe actually do that writing thing again.
In thinking about yuletide, here are my current thoughts on what I might request: (so I can remember when the time comes).
1. Cinna-centric fic, or maybe Katniss/Cinna (Hunger Games)
2. Henry and Theodore (Crush)
3. Bad wrong hot Charlie Crews/Rachel Seybolt (Life)
4. I DO NOT KNOW YET. A lot depends on what's eligible.
1 and 2 are probably solid requests. 3 could be switched out for something else, depending.
If Dark Angel is in, maybe I will ask for some Max/Alec. If Teen Titans is in, I could ask for Robin/Raven/Starfire or Raven/Starfire. If Fringe is still eligible, I could ask for Olivia/Esther, or a number of other things. If Batman Beyond is eligible, I can certainly think of things I'd ask for there. And if Under the Red Hood does get nominated and allowed, all this dithering will probably be moot. *snerk* But I doubt that will happen, so.
I could always ask for one of my fallbacks: Danny/Rusty, Alexander/Hephaistion, Achilles/Patroclus, Death/Dream, or Ged/Tenar. Or Middleman! I don't know yet what exactly I'd ask for in Middleman, but there should always be Middleman fic in yuletide. Or I could ask for Lucifer/Elaine, which I always want and which no one ever writes for me. And there's always that Kelson/Dhugal slash I only ever think about during yuletide and never remember to ask for.
Last year, I got both Gen/Irene AND Jean/Locke, so I don't feel the need to ask for them again so soon. Two years ago, I got a bounty of Coach/Mrs. Coach, so I don't feel a need to ask for that, either. I'm still bitter about the way Y: The Last Man ended, so I don't think I'll ask for that (355! ♥), and I did get a great story a couple years ago. Otoh, I don't think I've ever requested any Amelia Peabody fic, and I could totally go for that, or Indiana Jones. There's also the possibility of Tip and J.Lo. I would love fic about them, too.
I really ended up loving The Thin Man story I wrote last year - maybe I could request some Nick/Nora this time around? Ooh, or I could ask for Quentin/Caddy or Quentin/Shreve...but neither The Sound and the Fury nor Absalom, Absalom! is currently on the nominated list. Which means I'd have to redo my nominations again. Hmm...
If you've read through all that and can think of anything I've mentioned that's missing, let me know. One of my biggest issues is that when it comes time to sign up, I can't remember what I've wanted over the course of the year, so I end up asking for the same things over and over again, and then later I'm like, "But I could have asked for THAT! WHY DIDN'T I REQUEST THAT?" and I swear to keep better track of things and, well, you know how that goes.
(My other problem at yuletide is that every year, I swear I'm only going to offer things I REALLY TRULY want to write and feel I CAN write, and every year, as I'm signing up, I get all ambitious and also want to be a good participant and offer many possibilities, and I end up offering 5 fandoms I really want to write in and 30 fandoms that make me say, "I could probably do that," and then I freak out when I realize what I've done and then I swear I'm never going to do it again. Until the next time signups roll around. So this year, I SWEAR, ONLY FANDOMS I REALLY TRULY WANT TO WRITE AND FEEL I CAN WRITE. I MEAN IT THIS TIME!)
