same old trip it was back then
My dad's computer seems to be dead, which, as you can imagine, caused quite a bit of drama. He's going to call the geek squad, and he has it all backed up on an external harddrive, but in the meantime, I have to teach him how to use the tiny white laptop so he can check his email and his bank balance. I'm pretty sure this is not going to go well.
I love the tiny white laptop, but I don't find it easy to write on (the keyboard is still weird to me; not because of the size, necessarily, but because sometimes strange things happen and I don't know why*) and I'd been hoping to get some writing done.
Also, there was some kind of weird glitch with remixredux09, and it is displeasing to me.
Otoh, I am full of food and cake and raspberry Smirnoff ice from Mary Ellen's 40th birthday party (it was a surprise, and I think they actually managed to surprise her) and sleepy with all of it.
Maybe I will just read for a little while and then go to sleep. that sounds like a plan.

* like I will be typing and all of a sudden the window I'm typing in will minimize and I will be in a different window, for no reason I can discern, or the cursor will jump to a different spot on the screen, or something will suddenly be highlighted. it is very strange, and I don't know what combination of keys causes it.
