TRUE LOVE IN A SHACK
Oh my god, you guys, imochan put up a REMUS/SIRIUS LOVE POST, and you know, I have shipped a lot of pairings and loved a lot of pairings and written a lot of pairings, but I think when push comes to shove, Sirius/Remus will remain the OTP OF MY HEART. (I even like that the pairing sounds right with either name first.)
It just hits SO MANY of my bulletproof kinks*, and there were just so many different stories to tell in so many different eras - MWPP-era, post-Hogwarts/pre-Azkaban, Remus's lost years, GoF-era, Lie Low at Lupin's, OotP-era, and Bring Back Black.
I remember I started reading fic in it in late winter/early spring 2003, so it was before OotP, and I was convinced, CONVINCED I TELL YOU, that I had found my OTP of Delayed Gratification and Growing Old Together in the Cotswolds. I mean, the subtext had practically become text when Dumbledore sent Sirius off to lie low at Lupin's, and then there was the joint Christmas present and the infamous, "Sirius, sit down." and and and then there was that STUPID FUCKING VEIL, hands down winner for DUMBEST AND MOST POINTLESS DEATH EVER and they became my OTP of EPIC DOOM AND TRAGEDY**. Sigh. Otoh, that did let me indulge my love of stories about grief, and also eucatastrophe. Joy through sorrow. BRING BACK BLACK.

Because no-one falls in love with someone because they are beautiful - they're beautiful because you love them., or the way they could FINISH EACH OTHER'S SENTENCES even though they'd been apart for nearly THIRTEEN YEARS, or how they reconciled with half a sentence after so much betrayal and heartbreak. Fumbly first time boysex and awkward thirtysomething reunion sex and thank god you came back from the dead don't you ever die again sex. Oh, and also, BOYS IN EYELINER AND BLACK NAIL POLISH in the SEVENTIES. SIRIUS IN A COLLAR. REMUS PLAYING BASS. SIRIUS HAD A FUCKING FLYING MOTORBIKE, FUCKERS. And though I never personally warmed to David Thewlis as Lupin, he was still Harry's gay uncle on smack, and the movie brought us CRAZY GARY OLDMAN as SIRIUS FUCKING BLACK and you can't top that.
