you quit when the gorilla is tired
So I've been rewatching SPN in anticipation of the season four premiere (*eeee*), and I just finished season two, which makes me sad for Andy and Ava and Jake. I wanted more of them. I still like the AU in my head where Jake teams up with Sam and Dean to fight the YED. (I am kind of excited to see Aldis Hodge in "Leverage." He's a very compelling actor.)
Also, I am reminded of the fact that Dean kills himself three times in the course of the series (Skin, WIaWSNB, DaLDoM) and basically dies four times (Faith, IMToD, MS, NRftW) (for certain values of 'kills himself' and 'dies'). I feel like that should mean something, though I'm not sure it does. I don't know that they think through the metaphors/subtext very clearly sometimes. Mostly it makes me say, "Oh, Dean..."
