Oh, Burn Notice, how are you so awesome? And I really like how they are using Madeleine this season. ♥ ♥ ♥

There's been fic the past few days:
If the Shoe FitsSupernatural; Sam and Dean; pg; 4,265 words
"An unprecedented run of good luck, huh? Okay, that could be our kind of thing."
This was a lot of fun to write. I haven't actually been bowling since I was nine, but I have a feeling bowling alleys haven't really changed all that much. And the shoes are still gross.
The Sea Will Open in Your VeinsSupernatural; Sam and Dean; pg; 9,575 words
"You hate the beach. You've always hated the beach."
I love how this turned out. When I got the assignment, I was very excited, because I could have written a story for each of the prompts. In fact, I started a different story - an idea I'd had for a long time, actually, that would have dovetailed nicely, I thought, until I got into it and realized it was way more about Jo and Sam (and Dean) hashing out their issues in the aftermath of BUaBS than it was about the casefile, and it wasn't a story I really wanted to give to anybody, because I didn't think it would have been what the recipient wanted. So I made a list of things I'd been kicking around that would fit the various prompts, and this one came up, and I started writing and I set it someplace I know (knew, really - I haven't been down the Jersey shore in about fifteen years now, sigh) and loved. Originally it was supposed to be set in early season 2, but I liked the idea of setting it post-NRftW better, mostly because of my weird thing about writing forwards instead of backwards. This is the story where I was like, "Wah! It just doubled in size without my knowledge or consent!" Because the structure of it required that the second part be at least as long as the first. But it's one of my favorite things I've written this year, which, considering this is the year of knitting!Dean and muppets, is really saying something.
And then today, surprisingly, there was this:
Separation of PowersSupernatural/Lucifer; Sam, Ruby, Lucifer, Mazikeen; pg; spoilers through all known canon for both series; 1,270 words
"I was like you once. Angry, proud, defiant. Sure that I knew best for everyone."
I just really like the resonances between Sam and Lucifer (and, by implication, between Dean and Michael, who've already been linked in canon [see HotH]), so it was fun to write, especially once I told myself I didn't have to actually write the whole part where Sam goes down into hell. I wish Mazikeen had more to do in it, but you can't have everything. (I still would love to read a story where she and Dean have to work together and possibly have really rough sex. Someone should write that for me.)
Now to see if I can't finish a few more things before Thursday.
If anyone would like a dvd commentary of one of my stories, beyond the usual blathering I do when I post, drop me a comment. The ones I've already done are
here.
And as always, if you are interested in that sort of thing, I direct you to the
fic commentaries category in my memories - I save any I come across in my meanderings through LJ.
Also, I think the
dvd_commentary challenge is still going on, so if you'd like to do a commentary on one of my stories, have at it.
