i go crazy when i'm without you

Wow. I'm kind of stunned that Tim Russert died. My dad watches Meet the Press nearly every Sunday, and I always thought Russert seemed smarter than the average bear (or current news anchorperson, anyway). He was pretty young, too.

I am excited for the BSG mid-season finale tonight (DO NOT SPOIL ME!), but sad that we won't get more until, what? 2009? Who the fuck thought THAT was a good idea? GRAR!

WHAT? That's the worst plan EVAR. *scowls* *ponders Iron Man fic* *gets distracted*

Possibly it's changed since the last thing I read, but yeah. DUMBASSERY of the highest order.

And mmm...Iron Man fic...

Now I kinda want to see Starbuck/Tony Stark...

Not changed. This decision was made last summer; SciFi was probably THRILLED when the writers' strike gave them an excellent excuse. Several of the actors on the show talked about it at DragonCon last August/September, and said at the time that the writing itself was basically done then, but SciFi is cheerfully pretending this hiatus was another caused by the strike.

One of the comms I watch has someone ask about this (with a WHAT? FOR REAL? OMG) pretty much every single day, and every single day people tell them yeah, writers' fault, which pisses me off because the writers didn't go on strike until >2 months after this decision had been spoken abut publicly.

Well, allegedly Ron Moore used the time of the strike to "rethink" things (and rewrite? who knows?), but yeah, the split season was always in play, long before the strike happened.

YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET?!?!

They've been running the entire episode, every hour on the hour, on Scifi.com. 8am to 4pm Eastern time. I think you just missed the last run.

AAAAAAAAAAA YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET!!!

There were initially reports that Tim Russert died of a heart attack, but now they're kind of backing off that and saying the actual reason was unknown. Either way, he was 58 which is way too young.

Yeah, apparently he had some kind of blockage? it's very sad.

Yeah, since it's the last season, I think they wanted to stretch it out as long as possible. It's ridiculous.

Zounds, you're right. It's not on itunes. How can this be??

I don't suppose you've ever found any more songs by Furniture? "Brilliant Mind" is one of my favorites (and totally my Logan/Veronica song).

Check your email shortly.
