My friend from Santa Fe was
staying with me for a few days and just left. We had a good visit-
drank lots of coffee, ate yummy vegetarian meals, watched some movies
and talked. I also worked on the cover design for his book. When he
left, I took a very long nap because I was so tired! Now that
things are back to normal, I have to pick up the paints and
paintbrushes and get going again.
I've been watching a lot of movies lately. Love that Netflix program... Here's what I've seen and what I think about it-
Kill Bill vol.1 & 2- AMAZING!!!!Tarentino's best work! Epic, mythical and brilliant. (A++++)
Alien vs. Predator- Major Cheese-fest (F-)
Monster- Emotionally raw tragic story. Charleze Theron is amazing in this film. (A+)
Pieces Of April- Quirky story about dysfunctional family drama. (B+)
Supersize Me- A man eats McDonald's food 3 times a day for 30 days and gets very sick from it. Excellent movie that every American should watch. Interesting segment about sugar in schools too. (A)
Envy- I like Jack Black. But I didn't like this film. (D)
Anchorman- Okay. I liked Will Ferrel in
Elf a lot better. (C)
Eternal Sunshine-
It's so hard to watch Jim Carrey play a tragic and sad role. I enjoyed
the film effects and general scrambling of the timeline. (C)
Lost In Translation-
I can't even tell you why I liked this one. I think it was because
Japan is such a strange and bizarre culture. It was a real visual
treat. Didn't really like the plot. (B-)
I Heart Huckabees-
EXCELLENT!!! Quirky and fun Existential drama. If you sit around
wondering "what it's all about", you'll love this one. (A+)
