Um...sorry about not writing in like forever, whatever. ANyways. With the Christmas season and new years fast approaching, I think I'm going to start taking on my lovely friend Kat's approach and writing every other day, no matter what. It's a good idea and it'll help my writing. Oh, and the background, I've already picked out my new 'beaty' by the way, for Asia, and it'll be Zhang Zi-yi. That layout should be coming soon.
But until then, gentle reader, I'm starting something old. It's been a story that's been in my head and on paper for years, and, well, I'm starting it over, cuz it was never quite right. This is going to be a section of a story called 'Beginning Journey' which is part of a series called 'The Chronicles of the Six'. It is an EXTREMELY corny name...but I've never been good at names. so if you wanna find me another one, go you, and here it is!
Leaves rustled as in the darkness people rushed towards the eternal haven for all things preternatural. The woman carrying the babe finally moved towards the front door, her companion already with a hand raised murmuring something under his breath, and pushed against the barrier. In an instant both were through. He cursed softly though...the gate was soft, barely a hindrance....this wasn't good. He pulled open the door, and she ran in quickly, where the procession had already begun.
Slightly frazzled, she pulled her hood back, revealing a shock of red hair so dark it seemed black, her green eyes just as vivid. She set the small baby girl down in a small cradle, the last one in the circle. The other six had already been filled. Around the girl's neck, was a small crystal on a leather chain. The woman knelt behind her child, pulling the necklace off of her for a moment, and putting the crystal in the center, as it flashed a brilliant white, before dimming to a gentle glow.
She knelt back on her haunches, her eyes fltitting up to the other six centered in the circle around them. Behind the six of them,w ere six others, guardians at the ready with the tools needed to stop anyone planning on coming through. All six of them had their eyes on the door, many of them with a spell conjured up in their hands.
"Are we ready to begin?" The man seated across from her now murmured, his brooding green eyes looking to the small baby in front of him. The rest nodded, and he sighed a bit, closing his eyes, as his hands began to glow. Each of them clasped hands, as the final stages began.
One of the guardians, looked out the window and growled a bit, flashing a bit of fang as he moved closer, and sighed a bit, nodding to the other guardians, and opening the door. "Seems as if we have guests." He said irritably, before turning to the circle. "Please...no rush." He said quickly, closing the door.
The man leading the spell didn't look up from the children, as with every word he spoke the the crystal glowed brighter.
"The light cast from jeweel of lore
keys have been passed to open Time's door
Six have awoken from their dormant state
And chosen to be sent through once more."
Carefully the light began to glow, as each parent place a small item in the point nearest their child, and He continued ,slipping from English into a tongue that was ancient, borrowed from a time of dark old magic that had no place where it once had. Tey were asking for trouble with it, but it was truly the only way.
As the light glowed brighter a scream was heard from the doors. None of them moved, as with each flash of light, one of the children was suddenly gone, nothing remaining of them on this plane. The man only sighed a bit.
"Volena." And in another flash, he was gone. The woman with brilliant green eyes only sighed, as the crystal had disappeared with them. They were gone....She rose to her feet when suddenly the doors were rushed. She jumped to her feet, fire blazing from herh ands as hey eyes glowed.
No more time...
