Yep, in spite of the perky Christmas music I have playing I'm still kind of annoyed at all of the stupid and rude people around me. I swear they exist just to annoy me. *sarcasm*
First at work:
I go in to use the copier late in the morning and notice that it has a message saying that Tray 2 is out of paper. Ok, Tray 2 has a label on it saying that only Legal size paper is to go in that tray. So when I open Tray 2, what do I see, but someone has put regular size paper in there. Well, no wonder it's not working. It takes me all of 2 minutes to find some legal size paper and fill the drawer and get the printer/copier working again. It just boggles me that it most likely had been sitting there like that all day and no one else bothered to fix it. I see that happen a lot around here. Just fix the paper jam or put the paper in already!
Another annoying thing at work is that they've installed the auto-flush low-flow toilets here. So that means they don't always flush everything down if you know what I mean. We have people here who couldn't figure out that they need to double check and make sure everything goes down before they leave the stall. It got so bad that someone had to post a sign telling people to check that everything has gone down. Good grief, we are all adults here or so I thought.
Second driving in the car:
People are really rude. There was a rear end collision on the way to work and quite frankly when I passed the two cars, I couldn't see any damage and didn't know why they were going to waste a trooper's time to come out and file an accident report. But that is a topic for another time. Anyway, traffic was backed up in that lane. Did I mention that was the lane I was in? And all of us cars were trying to get over and had our signals on to indicate that and no one would stop and let us in. Whatever happened to the "Let one car in at a time" thing? Sigh!
Third back at work:
The Powers that Be decided all of us instructors would be in this open space to "encourage the sharing of ideas". Well, when we talk, we get in trouble for disturbing the other people around us. The whole "open work space" concept is supposed to foster communication but in reality when you try to communicate, you just annoy all of the people around you who hear every word you say. Sigh. Also, I'm stuck sitting about 30 inches from a really annoying person who will NOT stop humming or singing at the desk no matter how many times he's asked to stop. Everything about him annoys me. I cannot wait until we move offices in Jan or Feb.
Ok, I think I'm done venting for awhile...
